    Symbal Pricing, Explained

    Spencer Tolleson · CEO at Symbal · September 17, 2026 · 6 min read

    Key takeaways

    • Symbal costs $65 per provider per month, or $52 per provider per month billed annually.
    • There is one plan. Every feature is in it, including the Chrome extension and EMR autofill.
    • "Per provider" means the people who chart. Front desk staff are not providers and do not need a seat.
    • The 7-day trial takes no credit card, so nothing charges on day 8. You choose to subscribe, or your access ends.
    • Multi-location groups can contact us for custom pricing.

You've probably priced an AI scribe before.

It's usually not a fun afternoon. The ones built into an EMR usually come as an add-on. The EMR sets the price. Then they cap the number of charts you can run.

The standalone apps usually sell in tiers. The cheap tier gets you in the door. Then you realize the feature you actually want sits in the top tier.

But we don't believe in that kind of pricing. Symbal is $65 per provider per month. If you pay for the year, it's $52 per provider per month.

    That's the whole pitch.

No hidden fees. No add-ons. No chart limits. What you see is what you get.

The rest of this page is the detail you'd want before you subscribe. We'll cover what counts as a provider, what happens when the trial ends, and how this compares to the pattern in the category.

How much does Symbal actually cost?

Symbal costs $65 per month for each provider who charts. It's $52 a month if you pay annually.

    • Monthly: $65 per provider per month. Cancel anytime.
    • Annual: $52 per provider per month, billed once a year. That's $624 per provider per year. A full year on the monthly plan is $780, so the annual plan saves $156 per provider.
    • Trial: free for 7 days, no credit card required.
    • Multi-location groups: custom pricing. Contact us.

There are no setup fees. There are no per-note fees. There are no tiers.

The Chrome extension and EMR autofill are part of the plan. They aren't a separate purchase you make later. You get the whole product on day one.

    Who counts as a provider?

A provider is someone who sees patients and charts.

In a med spa that usually means injectors, nurses, PAs, NPs, and physicians. If a person records consultations and produces notes, that person needs a seat.

Your front desk is not a provider.

Neither is your office manager. Unless she also charts.

Those people can help set up the account. They can handle billing. They don't need a paid seat.

Take a clinic with two injectors and one front desk person. That clinic needs two seats. On the monthly plan that's 2 times $65, which is $130 per month. On the annual plan it's 2 times $52, which is $104 per month, or $1,248 for the year.

What happens when the 7-day trial ends?

    Nothing charges.

We never took a card, so there's nothing to charge. On day 8 you either enter payment and subscribe, or your access ends.

We built the trial this way on purpose. We'd rather you decide with your own charts in front of you than because you forgot to cancel.

If you walk away and want your data gone, ask us and we delete it within 72 hours.

Are the Chrome extension and autofill extra?

    No.

The extension is how Symbal actually fills your chart. It'd make no sense to sell it separately. It's in every plan, and so is the autofill it performs.

Boulevard, Aesthetic Record, and PatientNow are hard-mapped and tested. Other browser-based EMRs run in a generic mode with a copy-paste fallback.

The same goes for everything else. The mobile app, calendar sync, Beyond the Chart, and the ability to ask about a patient's history. One plan, every feature.

We only have one plan because the autofill is the point.

If we gated it, you'd be paying for a note you still have to type into the chart manually. This is the part most people get wrong. They build a great AI, and then they make you act like a human clipboard. We built Symbal to remove that problem entirely.

One plan is also simpler for a small team like ours. We don't have to build a tier ladder. You don't have to guess which rung you're on.

How Symbal pricing compares to other AI scribes

We looked at the published pricing pages of three companies in this space. Prices below are theirs, as listed in September 2026, and can change.

    • Add-on scribes inside an EMR are often metered. Aesthetic Record's ChartSmart AI is priced per account at $30 per month for 50 charts, $50 for 100 charts, and $75 for unlimited, with a $0.75 per chart overage above your tier. Source: Aesthetic Record's pricing page.
    • Standalone scribes often gate the chart push behind the top tier. Freed lists Starter at $39 a month with 40 notes, Core at $79, and Premier at $119. EHR push is only in Premier. Source: getfreed.ai pricing.
    • Others use a ladder of monthly, annual, and promo prices. Twofold lists $69 monthly, $49 on annual, and a $19.49 first month. Their med spa page says users copy and paste finished notes into Boulevard, Aesthetic Record, PatientNow, and others. Source: trytwofold.com.

    None of this is wrong.

Metered pricing can be cheap for a low-volume practice. But you have to do math every month. And the step that puts the note into the chart is either extra, gated, or manual.

    Frequently asked questions

    What happens after 7 days?

Your trial ends and nothing charges. We never took a card. You can subscribe from your account at any point during or after the trial. If you do nothing, your access ends.

    Can I add a provider mid-month?

Yes. Add a seat from your account and it's active right away. It bills at the same per-provider rate as the rest of your seats.

    Is there a contract?

The monthly plan has no contract. You can cancel anytime and you won't be billed again. The annual plan is billed once a year at the $52 per provider per month rate.

    What about multi-location?

If you run several locations, contact us for custom pricing. Tell us how many providers and locations you have and we'll send a quote.
